A Little About Me (Darla) & My Breeding Program:

A devoted vet tech turned stay at home mom of 2 (when the cost of childcare was more than my paycheck each week). My love, compassion, & devotion to and for animals has been a huge part of who I am since before I could walk. I was just a little girl when I spotted a Great Dane for the first time and that was it, I was in awe of their presence, beauty, and gentle nature! With that love I've always had and the admiration for the mighty Great Dane breed in my heart I knew one day I'd have one of my very own. When it came time as an adult for me to finally find my Dane it was a lot harder than I imaged it would be. I wanted a Dane that looked like "The Apollo Of Dogs" as described by the AKC standard. I wanted a Dane who I could feel certain would be healthy for life and not have hereditary disease shorten their already not long enough life span. Finding a Great Dane who was confirmation wise bred towards the standard and who's parents had been health tested proved to be challenging to say the least. If I did find one it was way outside of what I was able to afford and rightfully so (it takes a lot of extra research, effort, time, and money to produce such pups). Eventually, I did land in my first grade Dane and I was off from there! I have had several Danes since (all for the entire or rest of their lives). However, with each that challenge to find One that met all the criteria I had in mind for the first was just another challenge starting at the beginning. My dream was to one day be able to provide such puppies to those who were also seeking beautiful, healthy, and affordable great Dane puppies. As a vet Tech, I worked long hours, holidays, weekends, and emergency call hours. So breeding Danes was not something I knew I'd be able to do. Because I knew that if I did it, I wanted to do it right and I would need to dedicate a lot of my time to that. Researching and genetic health testing and making sure I paired the perfect adults to make the perfect puppies was time consuming enough however I knew the real challenge and most physically demanding and time consuming aspect of this endeavor would be when I had actual puppies here that I'd need to constantly tend to and ensure they were clean, safe, healthy, socialized, advocated for, and more. If I was going to breed Danes I was going to throw my entire heart into it and do it responsibly, anything less would be unacceptable to me. So when time came that I had to leave my career that I LOVED for a position as a stay at home mom I started my journey as a breeder and here I am today!

My 1st priority with my breeding program is to ONLY produce the healthiest puppies I possibly can to ensure happy healthy long futures for them & their families. I aim to only contribute to preservation of the breed & therefore only breed towards breed standard (size, shape, conformation, & disposition wise). I’m not trying to change the historical breeds attributes that have made them such amazing dogs to begin with nor do I try to experiment & invent a new “fad” color. All of my breeding Danes are DNA genetic health tested for congenital & hereditary issues/genes that could potentially pass down to any offspring & are “negative/clear” BEFORE ever breeding them. All of my puppies are AKC registered/able, healthy, loved, well socialized, with only the BEST temperaments & suited for families big, small, with young children, or just a best buddy for an individual! Every puppy who leaves me goes with lifetime breeder support! I will continue to educate owners and advocate for the health and happiness of all my puppies. When you get a puppy from me you join a family of outstanding fellow Great Dane owners and lovers. I as the breeder will ALWAYS and forever have your back and your puppies best interest will continue to be a priority to me for life. If your new to Danes that is ok too!
